Hey friends!
It's about Valentine's week.. so I thought I'd share the things I like to do on Love Day! Any kind of special Holiday, I like to make sure they day has jam-packed plans. Those tiny humans need to be occupied! Otherwise.... 👀 I loose them. I don't know about you, but it's pretty easy to loose kindergarteners on a party day! They are soooo excited.
Now, every year is different and it depends on how much help I have, but I'll take the extra steps to prep some of these things in advanced like pre-cutting out the hat, the pal-entine strips etc. If I don't have any help these activities become Valentine WEEK activities.
First up! Pal-entine bags! I've always been at schools that have a parent community that needs finance-free school participation. A Valentine's box made at home is extra stressful, so we take care of that in class!
Next up, I do hats during our party! This is what I typically pre cut out, so the students only worry about coloring. If I have help I'll have the helper pull small groups back. This way students are engaged during their party: some students can be passing Valentine's into their bags, others can be making hats, and the others can be making their Valentine notes! Here are our adorable love bug hats:
This day can bring a lot of donations! Make sure if you're expecting party donations to send out a form, survey monkey, or doodle to parents earlier in the week, or week before so you can organize how much of what you get and what exactly you get. Before these handy tools were available, I once had a Valentine's Party with 5 dozen cupcakes. 😳
